A. Jane Hoover, 96, Everett formerly of Oakdale Rd., Martinsburg passed away Thursday afternoon at UPMC Bedford.

She was born in Woodbury Township, Bedford County, daughter of the late Harper L. and Erdean R. (Stitt) Detwiler.  On October 25, 1939 she married Ivan E. Hoover in Winchester, VA.   He preceded her in death on June 15, 1994.

Surviving are 2 sons: Sheldon E. of James Creek and Ivan H. of Clearfield; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 siblings: John Ivan Detwiler and Romaine E. Smith both of Martinsburg.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne K. Schaukowitsch; infant brother, Donald; 2 sisters: Rue E. Corle and Barbara M. Burket; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Ann Hoover.

She was a former member of Mt. Pleasant United Church of Christ, rural Martinsburg and had been attending the Bedford Bible Church.

Jane was employed in the Meat/Deli Department at Wineland’s IGA and Ed’s Riverside both in Martinsburg.  She also worked in the Snack Bar at the Hershberger Memorial Swimming Pool.

She loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed cooking.

Friends will be received from 11am until the 1pm funeral service, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, Pastor Lynn F. Johnston officiating.  Interment will be held at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.
