Alberta J. McClain, 94, of Williamsburg, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday morning, November 29, 2018, at Homewood at Martinsburg.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles H. and Erma G. (Hess) Criswell.  On January 29, 1949, she married Richard S. “Gus” McClain at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 69 years; two sisters: Virginia M. Weller of James Creek and N. JoAnn Whalen of New Enterprise; and many nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by four brothers: Donald Levi, Samuel A., Robert C., and Charles L. “Junior” Criswell; and three sisters: Pauline M. Brumbaugh, Edith N. Sollenberger and Dorothy A. Kauffman.

Alberta was a 1943 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg and a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.

She retired from Sylvania-Phillips, Altoona with 38 years of service.  Alberta loved playing cards, crossword puzzles, word books, and sewing.

Friends will be received from 2 until 6 pm Sunday, December 2, 2018, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, and from 10 until the 11 am funeral service, Monday, December 3, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating.  Private interment will be held at Salem Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.
