Allen J. Baker

March 24, 1920 — June 8, 2015

ALLEN J. BAKER Sr. 95 of Hollidaysburg Veterans Home,
formerly of Loysburg, died 06/08/2015 at the Home. Born
03/24/1920 in New Enterprise, the son of Sherman H. and Deliah
(Koontz) Baker. Married Sara (Imler) on 12/09/1946 in
Winchester, she died on 04/21/2001 he was a member of the
Woodbury Church of the Brethren and was a Self Employed dairy
Farmer and retired from the PA Turnpike commission. He served
in the US Army Air Force in the European theater, he was a long
time member of the Cove Lions Club. and a A.S.C.S Board
Member.
Surviving are three daughters: Janice and husband Wilfred
Kennedy, Nancy and Husband Dennis Lafferty all of New
Enterprise and Lynn and husband Ervin of Versaolles Ky. One
son Allen J. Baker Jr. and wife Shirley Baker of Everett PA one
sister Delphine Gates of New Enterprise 12 Grandchildren 26
Great-grandchildren and one Great-Great grandson. Preceded in
death by two grandsons Dennis Lafferty Jr. and Sherman
Kennedy.
Friends received 6-8pm Wednesday the 10th at the S. Gerald
Weaver Funeral Home and 10-11am Thursday the 11th the
Woodbury Church of The Brethren where an 11am Service will be
held by Pastors Dave Ulm and Larry Graybill interment in the
Fairview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers
Research. Arrangements By the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral
Home.
