Allen E. Phillips

Allen E. Phillips, 60, Newburg, formerly of Martinsburg, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2018 at home surrounded by family after a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born on March 3, 1957 in Roaring Spring, son of Frederick E. and Grace E. (Metzker) Phillips of Martinsburg. He married Gabi Williams on July 29, 1994.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Mindy and husband Neil Ochoa of Maiden, NC, and Adrienne Williams of Shippensburg; seven grandchildren: Lucas, Joseph, Reuben, Rachel, Grace, Susan, and Silas Ochoa, all of Maiden, NC; one brother: Larry of Hollidaysburg; two nieces: Amber Phillips and Olivia Williams; and one nephew: Dustin Phillips.

He was preceded in death by nephew Christopher Phillips.

Allen was a 1975 graduate of Central High School, where he was an active member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA). He retired from a lifelong career in agriculture, working for 22 years as an Operations Manager at Martinsburg Milling and most recently, was employed as a Manager at Growmark FS.

He was a member of the Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church and enjoyed collecting coins and antiques. Allen also loved hunting on Lock Mountain, watching Pittsburgh sports, reading, his Ford trucks, and spending time with his family and friends.

Family and friends will be received from 1:30 pm until the 3:30 pm celebration of life service, Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, Pastor J. Brant Leidy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, 1249 Cocoa Ave., Suite 115, Hershey, PA 17033.
