Allison “Alli” Brooke Edwards, 21, Williamsburg, passed away early Saturday morning, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of Harry and Penny (Chamberlain) Edwards.
Surviving are her parents of Williamsburg; maternal grandfather, Merle Chamberlain; paternal grandparents Harry and Margaret Edwards; special aunt and uncle, Ed and Regina Patterson; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles; her inseparable best friend, who was like a sister, Tori Reasy. She was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, and niece; she was the center and love of her family and a very special friend to many.
Alli was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Lorraine Chamberlain with whom she had a very close and special relationship.
She was a 2012 graduate of Williamsburg High School, where she was very active and involved in many school activities, including Class Vice President, Library Club, FBLA, and a Student Aide. Alli was a multi-year starting player for the Lady Blue Pirate Basketball team, and also served as team captain. Her favorite sport was basketball, and she worked hard to excel and lead her teams. She spent many summers at basketball camps, at Penn State University, making life-long friendships and gaining new experiences for her competitive edge. She continued her loved of basketball into her college career, playing for the Lady Lions at the Penn State Altoona Campus for her first two years.
Allison was a devoted PSU fan and had just completed her junior year at Penn State Altoona, majoring in Human Development and Family Studies. Her desire was to work in a counseling and mentoring role with children and women in difficult family situations. She was a member of the Honor Society of Alpha Lambda Delta and served as the president of B.U.S.T., and was currently working for Kids First, as part of the teaching staff, and was also employed by Brouse Chiropractic as a Practice Representative.
She was a very vivacious, kind and spirited individual, who loved her extended family of friends- from school, college, her work and sports. Alli impacted those around her, and could always be counted on to support and encourage her family and friends. She had a dazzling smile and infectious personality, and will be so sadly missed by those who knew her.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, where a funeral will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, May 27, 2015, Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating. Interment to follow at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to the Fitness Facility at the Williamsburg Community Center or Mending Hearts Animal Rescue.
Allison was a tissue and organ donor.
