Anna Mary (Steward) Zimmerman, 96, resident of The Village at Morrisons Cove, formerly of E. Julian St., Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday evening at the home.

She was born in Martinsburg, daughter of the late Roy Clinton and Catherine Gertrude (Wareham) Steward. On October 22, 1942 she married Glenn W. Zimmerman in Lyswen (Altoona), he preceded her in death on September 23, 1987.

Surviving are 2 daughters: Anita G. Longenecker (W. Dale) of Williamsburg and Glenda A. McConnell (George E.) of Martinsburg; 3 grandchildren: Doug (Yvette), Danielle (Rob) and Brian (Noelle); 8 great-grandchildren: Sadie, Will, Cassie, Jenna, Tori, Kathryn, Yvonne and Anna.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Gertrude Adams, Nancy E. Earlenbaugh and F. Lucille Boyer; and a brother, Roy M. Steward.

Mrs. Zimmerman was a 1937 graduate of Martinsburg High School and a 1960 graduate of the Altoona Beauty School. She owned and operated Ann’s Beauty Shop in Martinsburg for 12 years. Anna was a member of the Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, where she had served as the secretary for JOY Fellowship and was a member of the TK Sunday School Class.

Anna loved spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports and also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

Friends will be received from 11am until 1pm, Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, where a funeral service will follow at 1pm at the church, Pastor Brian L. McCall and Chaplain Linda S. Banaszak officiating. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, 300 S. Mulberry St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
