Barbara A. (Kauffman) Ritchey

Barbara A. (Kauffman) Ritchey, 79, of rural Martinsburg, peacefully entered eternal rest, Saturday afternoon, December 15, 2018 at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Levi W. and Eva L. (Brumbaugh) Kauffman.  On June 21, 2005 she married Ralph G. Ritchey in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 13 years; two sisters: Carol J. Watkins of Mechanicsburg and Janet E. Shoenfelt of Martinsburg; a brother, David L. Kauffman of Palmetto, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Audrey J. Packer and Linda K. Hopkins.

Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School.  She was a member of Martinsburg Mennonite Church where she sang in the church choir and also cleaned the church for many years.

She was employed at the Sylvania Electronic Tube Plant in Altoona, delivered lost luggage for the Blair County Airport and also worked as compassionate caregiver for many local families.

Barbara served as secretary and treasurer for the Kauffman Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.  She loved the beach, the outdoors, gardening and all of God’s furry and feathered creations.

Friends will be received from 6-8pm, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg and from 10 until the 11am, funeral service, Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Martinsburg Mennonite Church, Pastor Joseph H. Furry officiating.  Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
