Barbara J. Kerns

     Barbara J. Kerns, 83, of Altoona, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on February 13, 1943 in Altoona; daughter of the late Robert J. and Grace M. (McVicker) Kerns.

     Barbara was a graduate of Altoona High School and Pronto’s Beauty School. She spent many years as the custodian at Llyswen United Methodist Church – Altoona. Barbara enjoyed attending the Altoona Senior Center, playing BINGO, and completing puzzles. She was a member of the Jaggard United Methodist Church – Altoona.

     Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Anne Zborowsky (dec. husband, Walter I.). Surviving is her brother, Robert D. Kerns (wife, Cheryl) of Altoona; and a niece, Christen Huber (husband, Brian) of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

     Friends will be received on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 10:00 until the 11:00AM funeral service at the Brown Funeral Home in Duncansville (1218 4th Ave. Duncansville, PA 16635); Reverend Fred E. Hickok officiating. Interment will be in Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
