Barbara Jo Moorhead

     Barbara Jo (Robinette) Moorhead 86, of Martinsburg, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026 at her home. She was born in Roaring Spring a daughter of the late Fred J. and Mae E. (Claar) Robinette. She was united in marriage on February 2, 1993 to the Rev. Gerald E. Moorhead who preceded her in death on November 4, 2007. She is survived by two children: Kevin J. Smeltzer and friend Gary Davidson, of Cumberland, MD and Wendy R. Linthicum, of Darmstaat, Germany; three grandchildren: Josh Smeltzer and wife Breanna, John and Joe Linthicum. She was preceded in death by her former spouse, John R. Smeltzer; and a sister Sandra Crossman.

     Barbara was a 1958 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, and attended the Grace Martin School of Business in Pittsburgh graduating in 1959. She held a long career in banking, and retired from Altoona First Savings in 1995. Barbara was an accomplished artist with focuses in water colors, oil painting, and still life portraits. She expanded her talents in sewing and quilt making, hand stitching unique and personalized designs in her quilts, as well as hand crafting her own attire. Barbara took great pride in being independent, living on her own for nearly 20 years, and tending to her property and flower gardens. She was a member of the St. Matthews Lutheran Church, in Martinsburg.

     A memorial service will be held announced at the Fink & Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Martinsburg. Private interment at Holsinger Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Martinsburg Food Pantry, 133 E. Allegheny St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
