Barbara J. Evans

March 23, 1944 – October 17, 2022

Barbara J. Evans, 78, Williamsburg, went home to be with the Lord, Monday evening, October 17, 2022 at her home.

She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Samuel C. and Jean E. (Kennedy) Robeson. On September 4, 1963 she married Ronald L. Evans in Winchester, VA.  He preceded her in death on June 24, 1993 following 29 years of marriage.

Surviving are her three children: Ronald L. Evans Jr. and Stacy M. Hughes both of Williamsburg; and Kelly J. Crownover (Darren) of Coupeville, WA; two grandchildren: Nickolas Crownover of Ellensburg, WA and Veronica Rives (Dakota) of Houston, TX; and a sister, Bonnie L. Earle (Skip) of Martinsburg.

Barbara was preceded in death by a grandson, Ronald Leighton Hughes and a sister, Jacqueline R. Dinges.

She was a graduate of Williamsburg High School and also attended the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. Barbara worked for many years as a secretary for Nationwide Insurance, Williamsburg and as a pharmacy assistant at Dicks Pharmacy, Williamsburg.

Barbara was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. In her free time she enjoyed having coffee and conversation with the ladies at the O.I.P. She loved spending time with her family, reading, cross word puzzles, and crocheting with her friends at the Williamsburg Senior Center.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8pm, Friday, October 21, 2022 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg and from 10 until 11am, Saturday, October 22, 2022, where a funeral service will follow at 11 am, with Dave Cadle officiating. Interment will be held at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
