Belva Lee (Baker) Slagenweit, 85, of Everett, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at home. She was born on December 11, 1940 in Roaring Spring; daughter of the late Charles A. and V. Romaine (Replogle) Baker. On September 7, 1958 in New Enterprise, she was united in marriage to Paul A. Slagenweit; he preceded her in death on June 22, 2023.
Belva was a Class of 1958 graduate of Northern Bedford County High School and was a banker by trade. She was the owner/operator of both Barndollar Bed & Breakfast and Cortland Bed & Breakfast. Belva was an animal lover, cherishing many pets throughout the years. She enjoyed gardening, playing piano and saxophone, taking walks, listening to hymns, and reading scripture.
Belva was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A.; a twin sister, Betty L. Baker; sisters: Carol Hess and Donna Myers; and a brother, Robert E. “Bob” Baker. Surviving is daughter, Leila Partner of Everett; grandsons: Zachary Partner (wife, Morgan) and Jacob Partner (wife, Amy); great-grandchildren: Zachary, Sophia, and Elias Partner; siblings: C. William Baker (wife, Rita) and Linda Lamb; brother-in-law, Gerald Slagenweit (wife, Barbara); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 3:00PM at the Dry Hill Cemetery in Woodbury.
If so desired, Memorial Contributions in Belva’s name may be made to the Bedford County Humane Society (182 Bohn Rd. Bedford, PA 15522).
