Betty J. Farringer, 88, Williamsburg passed away Monday afternoon at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
She was born in rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late Frank F. and Joanna G. (Walker) Forshey. On June 25, 1948 she married Donald Earl Farringer in Williamsburg and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2005.
Surviving are 2 sons: David F. (Imogene) of Roaring Spring and Samuel J. (Nancy) of rural Martinsburg; a daughter, Joanna M. Royer (Ronald) of Williamsburg; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Roland of Duncannon.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Ronald Hughes; 3 brothers: Raymond, Oscar and Paul; and a sister, Dorothy Lockawich.
Betty was a 1946 graduate of Williamsburg High School and was longtime member of Williamsburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, where she served for many years as Sunday School Secretary and Deaconess.
She was primarily a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, flowers and sending cards to family and friends, but the two things most precious to her, were her family and church.
Friends will be received from 11am until 1pm, Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Williamsburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, where a funeral service will follow at 1pm, Pastor Paul R. Campbell officiating. Private interment will be held at Yellow Springs Lutheran Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to her church.
