BETTY R. CLAYCOMB, 85, Of  Potter creek, New Enterprise RD Went home to be with Jesus on 11/08/2012 at the Allegheny Lutheran Home. Born 11/14/1926 Duncansville PA. The daughter of Chester E. and Mary E. (Ulery) Swartz. Married Clyde D. Claycomb on 01/12/1946 in Cumberland MD. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Martinsburg, where she helped with the ladies Lutheran Aide. She worked on there farm for 40 years along side her husband, Clyde and son, Steve and wife Linda.
She enjoyed the daily farm report from her husband, doing word puzzles, and watching game shows. Talking with her about the Lord always brought a smile to her face. After her stroke she spent the last 9 years in the care of her loving caregivers one being her daughter Carol. Her beautiful smile and pleasant personality was enjoyed by all. Surviving: her husband one daughter Carol J. Rugh and one son Steve A. Claycomb both of New Enterprise RD. two sisters Peg Wachter of Loysburg and Josie Brayfield of GA. Two brothers Ray E. Swartz of New Enterprise and Raymond E. Swartz of Tyrone one Granddaughter Jessica L. Claycomb. Preceded in death by brothers: Johnny, Don, Clarence and bob and Sister Elda.
Friends received 5 – 8 pm Sunday the 11th at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral home and 10 – 11 am Monday the 12th at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Where an 11am service will be held by Pastor Scott E. Schul. Interment in the Holsinger Cemetery. Memorial Contributions maybe made to the Southern Cove Ambulance Service. Arrangements by the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home, Woodbury.
