Betty J. Corrigan, 86, Williamsburg, went home to be with her Lord surrounded by family and friends, Thursday evening at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Elmer L. and Dorothy M. (Smith) Reed. On April 14, 1951 she married Joseph F. Corrigan in rural Williamsburg and he preceded her in death on March 26, 1998.

She was the proud mother of 5 children, and surviving are 2 daughters: Debbie J. Russell of rural Roaring Spring and Linda D. Coy of Clappertown; a son, Kenneth D. (Sabrina) of Williamsburg; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in- law, Gina Corrigan of rural Martinsburg.

Betty was preceded in death by a son, James E.; a daughter, Suzie L. Snyder; a granddaughter, Melissa Dawn Corrigan; a brother, Walter Kenneth Reed; 2 sisters; Edith Teeter and H. Louise Reigh; and a son-in- law, James R. “Jimmy”.

She was the founder and past president of the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Betty was a member of Mines United Methodist Church, rural Williamsburg where she sang in the church choir and served on various church committees.

Along with her husband she previously owned and operated Betti-Jo’s Restaurant, (formerly the Shamrock Restaurant) in Martinsburg during the 60’s.

She loved spending time with family and friends and also enjoyed attending church, cooking, shopping and watching NASCAR.

Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Monday, June 6, 201, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the funeral home, Pastor Gordie Trimer and Pastor A. Vance Hart II officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to the Williamsburg Ambulance Club, P.O. Box 94, Williamsburg, PA 16693 or the Mines United Methodist Church, 568 Mines Lane, Williamsburg, PA 16693.
