     Betty J. Snyder 85, formerly of Bakers Summit, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at the Presbyterian Village in Hollidaysburg. She was born in Roaring Spring a daughter of the late Clinton Andrew and Gladys Pearl (Shehans) Merrits. On July 5, 1959 in Martinsburg, she married Charles M. Snyder who preceded her in death on February 12, 2011. She is survived by three children: Connie Cottle and significant other Bruce Kollar, of Altoona, Charles W. Snyder and wife Annette, of Loysburg, and George A. Snyder and significant other Heather Hodge, of Coalmont; eight grandchildren: Steve Cottle, Keri Snyder, Craig Snyder, Sean Snyder, Amanda Lancendorfer, Mark Bruder, Sven Bruder, and Roxxanne Housel; and a sister Connie Clair and husband Arnie, of Ore Hill. She was preceded in death by a brother George Merrits.

     Betty was a 1959 graduate of Bean Hill and worked various jobs throughout her life including the Martinsburg Shoe Factory, Leighty’s, and at Sheetz. She enjoyed keeping her house immaculate every day, and attending Northern Bedford sporting events when her grandchildren were competing. Betty was a member of the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren.

     Friends will be received on Monday, October 5, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Fink & Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Martinsburg, and from 10 until the 11 am funeral service at the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren with Pastor Paul Snyder officiating. Private interment at Alto-Reste Park, in Altoona. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, or Disabled American Veterans.
