Beverly J. Frederick, 83, of rural Martinsburg, passed away Friday morning, September 21, 2018 at Homewood at Martinsburg.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Elvin and Lillian (Henry) Butler.  On October 23, 1955 she married Gerald K. Frederick at Smithfield Church of the Brethren, rural Martinsburg.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 62 years; two sons: David L. Frederick (wife, Kimberly) of rural Martinsburg and Mark E. Frederick (wife, Carla J.) of rural Roaring Spring; a daughter, Carol S. Frederick of Laurel, DE; four grandsons: Adam S., Aaron E., Paul G., and Mark A. Frederick; a granddaughter, Melissa G. Morningstar; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Rivers.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

Beverly was a 1953 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg and also received an associate degree from Altoona School of Commerce.  She worked at Ritchey’s Dairy and Martinsburg Milling until she married Gerald, and together they ran a dairy farm in rural Martinsburg for many years.

She was a longtime member of Smithfield Church of the Brethren.  Beverly loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed gardening, especially flowers.

Friends will be received from 10:30 am until the noon funeral service, Monday, September 24, 2018 at Bice Memorial Chapel at Homewood at Martinsburg, the Reverend Jerry McCuller Jr. and Pastor Ronald Page officiating.  Private interment will be held at Holsinger Cemetery, rural Roaring Spring.

The family prefers memorial contributions in memory of Beverly be given to your favorite local charity.
