Beverly A. Rhodes

July 14, 1939 ~ February 23, 2024

Beverly A. Rhodes, 84, of Williamsburg, went home to be with her Lord, Friday afternoon, February 23, 2024 at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late James E. and Pearl A. (Umbower) Lloyd.  On July 21, 1956 she married John A. Rhodes at the Williamsburg Church of God.

Surviving are her beloved husband, John of 67 years; three children: John A. “Buck” Rhodes Jr. (Denise) of Williamsburg, Robin A. Rupeka of Williamsburg and William D. Rhodes (Mia) of Hollidaysburg; four grandchildren: Jeremy Rupeka, Jonathan Rhodes, Chelsey Rhodes and Ryan Rhodes; and three great-grandchildren: Lakota, Mary Ruth and Lyla Rhodes.

She was preceded in death by four brothers: Francis “Hank”, Harry, John “Short” and James “Carb” Lloyd and a sister, M. Jeannette Roush.

Beverly was a 1956 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She was employed for 15 years as a cook for Blair County Head Start in Altoona.  Beverly was a longtime, faithful member of Grace Pointe Community Church, Williamsburg.

She loved serving her Lord and spending time with her family.   Beverly also enjoyed talking with friends, especially her best friend from childhood, the late, Gerta Strohmeyer.

Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Grace Pointe Community Church, Williamsburg and from 10 until 11am, Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the church, where a funeral service will begin at 11am, Pastor Joshua Kirksey officiating.  Interment will follow at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Beverly may be given to Grace Pointe Community Church, 815 Yellow Springs Dr., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
