Beverly O. (Imler) Oakes

Beverly Oakes, 75, of Jacks Corner Road, Hopewell, died peacefully in her home on May 8, 2018. She was born on September 22, 1942, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Horton) Imler. She married Wayne Oakes on July 16, 1960; he  preceded her in death. She is survived by four daughters; Kathleen, Sonya, Michelle, and Deborah; nine grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, three sisters, and two brothers. Beverly was a member of the Bedford Forge United Methodist Church.  She was an amazing mother, mema, and avid cook. Friends will be received from 3:00-7:00PM Thursday, May 10th and 10:00-11:00AM Saturday, May 12th. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday with Pastor Nancy Goff officiating. All of the above will be held at the Bedford Forge United Methodist Church. A private graveside service will be held following the funeral.
