Bonnie J. (Smith) Clapper

Bonnie J. (Smith) Clapper, 86, of New Enterprise, passed away on December 20, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on May 17, 1937 in East Freedom; daughter of the late Claire L. and Evelyn (Baughman) Smith.

Bonnie was a Class of 1955 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and was employed by The Murphy Company and Bowman’s Quality Manufacturing. She enjoyed reading, canning, and the time she spent visiting with family and friends. Bonnie loved going to church, reading her Bible, and sharing her Bible knowledge with her friends and family.

Bonnie was preceded in death by a son, Keith S. Clapper; sister, Carol Smith; and brothers, Melvin B. and Charles “John” Smith. Surviving are granddaughter, Kylee Clapper (Joseph Mowery) of Claysburg; grandson, Wesley Clapper (Tracy) of New Enterprise; grandson, K.C. Clapper of Roaring Spring; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Audrey Weaver; brothers, Wayne and Craig W. Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Saturday, December 23, 2023 from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM Funeral Service at the Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury; Pastor Daniel Gochnour officiating. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Bonnie’s name can be made to Scent of Water Ministries (812 Brubaker Rd. Roaring Spring, PA  16673).
