Bonnie Jean (Despot) Middleton

Bonnie Jean (Despot) Middleton, 73, of Hollidaysburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, after a courageous 21-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born on October 25, 1952 in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late John and Helen (Umbower) Despot. On June 8, 2001 at the Calvin House in Hollidaysburg, she was united in marriage to Dennis George Middleton, who survives.

Bonnie was a Class of 1970 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was a member of the North Anderson Baptist Church - Anderson, SC. Bonnie retired after 26 years of employment with JCPenney Home Interior. She enjoyed reading, riding bikes on Rails to Trails, her cat diggers, and spending time with her family and friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her sister, Helen “Pinky” Hein. Surviving is her husband, Dennis G. Middleton; son, Jason Bottenfield (wife, Grace) of Pittsfield, ME; step-daughter, Michelle Miller (husband, Ronald) of Bald Eagle; grandchildren, Maxwell, Christian, and Ian; sister, Linda K. Despot; brother-in-law, Gordon A. Hein; niece, Heather Moyer; nephews, Robert Hein and Collin Spotts; aunt, Cheryl Umbower; as well as numerous cousins.

A Memorial Service for immediate family and close friends of Bonnie will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 1:00PM in the chapel at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg; Reverend Ralph Hamer officiating. Inurnment will be in Royer Cemetery.

If so desired, Memorial Contributions in Bonnie’s name may be made to The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg Benevolent Fund.
