Brian Paul Moore, 49, Altoona, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at his home due to complications from Type I Diabetes.

Brian was born at JC Blair Hospital, Huntingdon on November 6, 1970.  He grew up in Williamsburg and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1989.

After high school, Brian earned a diploma from Hiram G. Andrews Vocational Center, completing the Jewelry and Watch Repair course of study. He was employed in Clearfield as a watch repair tech for several years.

Brian then upgraded his technical skills by obtaining training in fiber optics and computer circuitry. He was subsequently employed by C-Cor Electronics in Blair County until the company moved to Mexico.

His last career position was as a KHEAA College Grant Application Customer Service Representative in Lawrence, KS for several years.

Brian was diagnosed as a four-year-old with severe (brittle) Type I/Childhood Diabetes.  As an adult, he was determined to fight his disease and live and work as an independent and self-sufficient person. Eventually, however, he had to retire on disability and give up full-time employment when his condition caused frequent hospitalizations.  He then returned to Blair County, where he purchased a home. Hoping to return to work, he enrolled in a degree program online through the University of Phoenix and graduated in 2013.

Brian is survived by his parents, William I. and Andrea (Phelps) Moore of Williamsburg; a half-sister, Candice Dodd of San Antonio, TX; and a step-daughter, Emily Dye of Rosedale, VA.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Sean D. Moore and Garth Taylor Moore.

There will be no services. Private inurnment will be held at Rockwood Cemetery, Somerset County.

Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
