C. Gerald Grannas

C. Gerald Grannas, 75, rural Williamsburg passed away, Monday evening following a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Herman C. and Emily C. (Zimmerman) Grannas. On April 22, 1967 he married Phyllis J. Perry in Williamsburg.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Phyllis of 49 years; 2 sons, Brian of Millersburg and Mark of Altoona; a brother, Kenneth W. (Alice) of rural Williamsburg; and a sister-in-law, Jayne A. Grannas of Duncansville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald C.
Gerald was a 1958 graduate of Williamsburg High School and was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1963 until 1965 attaining the rank of SP4.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Tyrone and Gerald also enjoyed watching NASCAR and model railroading.
Gerald retired in 2010 from Grannas Bros. Stone & Asphalt, where he held various positions over his 52 years of service, including, Heavy Equipment Operator, Explosive Specialist and Quarry Superintendent.
Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Thursday, June 23, 2016 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, June 24, 2016 at the funeral home, Pastor David Keyworth officiating. Private interment will be held at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.
