Carole Ann (Shimer) Rhodes

Carole Ann Rhodes, 73, of Woodbury, passed away on March 18, 2018 at Homewood in Martinsburg. She was born on May 15, 1944 in Everett, daughter of the late Kenneth R. and Sara Elizabeth (Pepple) Shimer. Carole was a graduate of Norther Bedford High School Class of 1962 and a member of the Woodbury Church of God. On April 6, 1963 in Woodbury, she married Samuel E. Rhodes. She was a beautician by trade and secretary for her husband Sam’s Construction Company. Carole enjoyed attending auctions, crafting, reading, crocheting, and her grandchildren were the love and joy of her life. She was a member of the PA Hairdressers Association and the Potomac Fish & Game Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Shimer. Surviving are her husband Samuel; son Michael Rhodes (Altha) of Roaring Spring; daughter Michelle Bowser (Gregory) of Roaring Spring; son Mark Rhodes of Duncansville; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Boles (Rusty), Jennifer N. Fridgen (Nathaniel) and twins Lucas Theodore and Adeline Elizabeth, Andrew S. Claycomb, Rebecca Rhodes, and Ashely Rhodes; sister Mary Louise Musselman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday, March 22nd from 4:00-8:00PM and Friday, March 23rd from 10:00-10:30AM. At 10:30AM Friday, a funeral service will take place with Gary Boor officiating. All of the above will be held at Weaver Funeral Home in Woodbury. Interment will be at Dry Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carole’s name can be made to the Southern Cove Volunteer Fire Company or the Southern Cove Ambulance Service.
