Cecelia Lorraine “Silkie” Hoover

Cecelia Lorraine “Silkie” Hoover, 87, Martinsburg, formerly of Roaring Spring, passed away Wednesday evening, May 25, 2022, at Homewood at Martinsburg.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Elwood C. and Dorothy M. (Detterline) Imler.

Surviving are a son, Kelly David Hoover of Martinsburg; a grandson, David A. Hoover (Francine) of Shippensburg; 3 great-grandchildren: Brunie, Guichelle and Chloe Hoover; two sisters: Darlene J. Fouse of Fredericksburg and Bonnie J. Trueman of Henrietta; and nieces and nephews: Duane Fouse, Cheryl Fouse, Eddie Trueman Jr., Tisa Stonerook, and Bradley, Brian and Jay Baker.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wendell Brian Hoover; and a sister, C. Dawn Baker-Burket.

Cecelia was a 1953 graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg and retired as a machine operator from Roaring Spring Blank Book Company following 32 years of service.

She was a longtime member of Mount Pleasant United Church of Christ, rural Martinsburg and loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, cards and bowling.

A private service will be held at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, Pastor Kenneth Downs officiating.  Private interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.
