Chad Lynn Poet, 41, of Claysburg, formerly of rural Roaring Spring died late Monday evening, March 22, 2021, following a long, courageous battle with drug addiction.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of Gary L. and B. Corrine (Beach) Poet.

Surviving are his parents of rural Roaring Spring; a daughter, Adyson N. Poet of East Freedom; a brother, Dustin R. Poet of rural Roaring Spring; and his girlfriend, Ashley Miller of Claysburg.

Chad was 1998 graduate of Northern Bedford High School, where he played on the football team and wrestled.  He was a U.S. Army veteran serving at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, from 1998 until 2001.

He was employed at Blue Knob Ski Resort during the winter and in the summer worked with a partner doing lawn care.  Chad enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

A celebration of life service is being planned for a later date.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
