Charles G. Mellott

Charles G. Mellott, 94, of Martinsburg, formerly of Waterside, passed away on January 7, 2020 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center. He was born on August 21, 1925 in Waterside; son of the late Daniel and Juda (Henry) Mellott. Charles served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He was employed for 30+ years as a plumber for A. Lloyd Steele. Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed playing Bingo and 500 Rummy, and was a member of the Waterside Church of the Brethren. He was preceded in death by a grandson Clifford Moyer II; brothers Albert, James, John, and Robert; and sisters Alice, Katherine, Mae, and Ruth. Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Lula (Keagy) Mellott; son Jerry Mellott (Nancy) of Woodbury; daughter Deborah Moyer of Martinsburg; son Roger Mellott (Beth) of Woodbury; as well as 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. At request of the deceased, Funeral Services will be held privately. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery. If so desired, Memorial Contributions in Charles’s name can be made to John’s Way.
