Charles Matthew “Chuck” Mumich

Charles Matthew “Chuck” Mumich, 72, rural Williamsburg, passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 20, 2018, at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Matthew J. and Olga M. (Krchelich) Mumich. He married Maire Viire on September 11, 1965 in Dillon, SC.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 53 years; three daughters: Heidi Marie Mumich-Johnson (Rick) of Duncansville, Chrissy S. Dehoyos (David) of Williamsburg and Kathy A. Verespy (Chris) of Lansdale; four grandsons: Owen and Nolan Verespy, and Tristen Levi and Matthew “Chico” Dehoyos; a sister, Ramona J. Teeters of Huntingdon; two brothers: Frederick A. of Sheppton and Andrew J. of Mount Airy, NJ; and many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Donna Marie Bollinger and Sarah Ann Coombs.
Chuck attended Williamsburg High School and was a former member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg. He was a US Army Vietnam veteran, serving from 1965-1967, attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class. In 2013, he retired from Mead-Westvaco, Alexandria.
He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed hunting and camping.
A memorial service with honors will be held at noon, Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating. Inurnment will follow at Yellow Springs Lutheran Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions in memory of Chuck be given to the Disabled American Veterans Association, VA Regional Office, 1000 Liberty Ave, Room 1606, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
