Gene was a graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, and a faithful member of Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, where he worshipped for his entire life.

He was a life-long dairy farmer in Martinsburg.  After his health prohibited him from working on the farm, Gene would go on long car rides throughout the Cove to enjoy watching the progress of the farmers’ hard work in their fields, especially those of his son, Gerald.  He also enjoyed spending winters in Florida and watching sports on television, especially Pirate baseball.

A private service will be held at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Brian L. McCall officiating.  Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
