D. Clair Hixson

D. Clair Hixson, 87, of Roaring Spring, formerly of New Enterprise, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at the Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg. He was born on October 25, 1938 in Everett, son of the late Foster and Frances (Whisel) Hixson. On March 20, 1965 in Woodbury, he was united in marriage to Delores I. (Ott) Hixson; she proceeded him in death on May 12, 2009.

Clair was a graduate of Everett High School and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. He served his country as a member of the United States Army. Clair was a member of the Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church for many years. He enjoyed hunting and time spent with his family. Clair worked as a Pressman for Standard Register in Bedford for 29 years.

Clair was proceeded in death by his wife, Delores; and siblings: Joan Widmann, Betty Lee Batzel, and Jean Wilt. Surviving is son, Owen L. Hixson (wife, Alisha) of Martinsburg; daughter, Angie Swartz (husband, Kevin) of Bedford; grandchildren: Aaron, Quinton, Connor, Bradley, and Rachel; as well as five great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Monday, April 13, 2026 from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM Funeral Service at Fink & Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury; Pastor Earl Herr officiating. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
