Daniel L. Smith Sr., 79, of Bedford, passed away Sunday afternoon at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

He was born in Johnstown, a son of the late Paul Norman and Edith E. (Longstreth) Smith. He married Carol S. Williams on May 27, 1993, in Bedford.

Surviving are his wife; three sons: T.J. Williams and wife Karlee of Osterburg, Daniel Smith Jr. of Hyndman, and Brad Smith of Valencia; and three grandsons.

Daniel was a 1965 graduate of Hyndman High School, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and coin collecting.

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

A private funeral service for his family will be held at a later date, with inurnment at Berkley Hills Cemetery, Johnstown.
