Daniel W. “Pete” Brantner

Daniel W. “Pete” Brantner, 77, of Williamsburg passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 16, 2019 at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late David Elwood and Mary Elizabeth (Kifer) Brantner.

Surviving are eight sisters: Rose D. Lear, Ruth Diane Crouch, Carol L. Allen, Bonnie L. Hammond, Rebecca A. Stiffler, V. Arlene Luke, Nancy K. Beeler and Catherine Emma Detwiler; two brothers: Clyde W. “Butch” and Robert D.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters: Edna R. “Tiny” Brantner, Jane L. Boose, Faye M. Gorsuch and Dorothy E. Hileman; and four brothers: infant Donald, John D., James L. “Irvin” and Thomas S. Brantner.

Pete was employed at Skills of Central PA, Altoona for many years and also participated in the Special Olympics, where he competed in bowling.  He was a longtime member of Grace Pointe Community Church, the former Williamsburg of God.

He loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed fishing, camping and going to Altoona Curve baseball games.

Friends will be received from 1:30-3pm, Saturday, July 20, 2019 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a funeral service will begin at 3pm, Pastor Jim Spivey officiating.  Private interment will be held at Oreminea Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

Memorial contributions in memory of Pete can be given to Grace Pointe Community Church, 815 Yellow Springs Dr., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
