Darlene M. Wyland, 90, a resident of Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Williamsburg, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and be reunited with her husband, Jimmy, sons: Bryan O. and Barrie R., and grandson Whitney O., Tuesday afternoon, April 23, 2024 at the Village.

She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Otis Calvin and Catherine A. (Bice) Imler.  On April 26, 1952, she married James P. “Jimmy” Wyland at Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg, and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2018.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon H. Settle (Melvin) of Altoona; two daughters-in-law: Cathy J. Wyland and Karen S. Wyland (Barry Heverly) both of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren: Crystal Tinker (John), Amanda Banks (Abel), Ryan Settle (Evelia), Darla Stoltz (Nicholas), Valerie Prough (Tyler), Angie Knight (German Rico) and Denise Bagley (Ben Hoenstine); and 11 great-grandchildren: Emily, Alex, Abby, Aden, Mary, Ethan, Eli, Abraham, Bryson, Draven and Francis.

She was preceded in death by two sons; a grandson; a brother, Otis F. “Sonny” Imler; and a sister, Nadine Imler.

Darlene attended school in Hollidaysburg. She was longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, where she and her husband, Jimmy served as custodians. Darlene was a faithful follower of Jesus and taught her family the true definition of love and faith.

She had worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory in Huntingdon, as an Avon representative for many years and also in the school cafeteria at the Williamsburg Elementary School.

Darlene loved spending time with her family and teaching her grandchildren the art of baking and canning.  She also enjoyed sewing, supporting local fund raisers and talking with family and friends. Darlene had truly never met a stranger.

Friends will be received from 2-4pm, Sunday, April 28, 2024 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg and from 10 until 11am, Monday, April 29, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, where a funeral service will begin at 11am, Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating.  Interment will follow at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

Contributions in memory of Darlene may be given to the Williamsburg Vol. Fire Company, 305 E. Second St., Williamsburg, PA  16693.
