David Calvin Burget, 65, of Reddick, FL formerly of Roaring Spring, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at his home.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of Raymond C. Burget of Altoona and the late Ramona K. (Smith) Burget.

Surviving are his loving wife of 35 years, Lynne A. Burget; a daughter, Angela L. Burget of Reddick, FL; two brothers: Danny C. Burget (Sylvia) of Martinsburg and Duane C. Burget (Missy) of Altoona; a sister, Linda K. Allison (Mark) of Williamsburg; six nephews: Sam Burget, Mike Burget, Daniel Burget, Clyde Burget, Joshua Allison, Caleb Allison; and two nieces: Laura Allison and Shelly Huston (Christopher).

David was a 1977 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg.  After graduation, he stepped out on his own to attend MTA Trucking School in Elizabethtown, determined to be a long haul truck driver.  He completed the program and earned his CDL license.

Following a successful lifetime career in the trucking industry, David found the job he loved the most, working the last seven years as a truck driver for Wal-Mart.  He was recently honored with his own 18 wheeler truck embossed with his name displaying the 709,039 miles he drove safely without incident.

When not driving truck, David spent most of his time with his family tending to his horse farm and enjoying festivals and events throughout Florida.  He was a devout Christian, who trusted the Lord with all his heart.

Friends will be received from 6-8pm, Friday, November 29, 2024 at Albright Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, and from 10 until 11am, Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the church, where a funeral service will begin at 11am, Pastor David Crumrine officiating.  Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
