David E. Helsel, 56, of rural New Enterprise, passed away Thursday evening, July 20, 2023, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of Donna J. (Miller) Helsel and the late Leroy K. Helsel.

Surviving are his mother, Donna, of rural New Enterprise; two half-brothers: Robert C. Helsel and Kenneth E. Helsel; an adopted brother, Anthony W. Helsel; three uncles: Kenneth R. Miller (Arvilla), Donald B. Miller (Sarah), and Lester J. Helsel; two aunts: Doris A. Miller, and Julianne K. Statler; and numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey B. Helsel, and an uncle, Lloyd Helsel.

David was a 1985 graduate of Northern Bedford County High School. In 1986, he earned an associate degree in CADD Computer Systems Management and then in 1987, completed an associate degree in Specialized Technology, both from Pittsburgh Technical Institute. He was employed by MK-Ferguson, of Cleveland, Ohio and Quintax, Inc., of East Canton, Ohio for nearly 20 years.

David was a member of Holsinger Church of the Brethren, rural New Enterprise.

He loved working with computers, researching genealogy, listening to country music, and spending time with his cats.

Friends will be received from 5:30 to 7 pm, Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc, Martinsburg, where a funeral service will begin at 7 pm, Pastor Paul R. Snyder officiating. Private interment will be held at Holsinger Cemetery, rural New Enterprise.
