David Herman Long

David Herman Long, 79, of Claysburg, passed away on August 17, 2023 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring. He was born on January 4, 1944 in Blue Knob; son of the late Robert and Adah (Hodgson) Long.

Dave was a tractor-trailer driver for over 40 years, retiring in 2008 from Smith Transport. He enjoyed flea marketing, watching Steelers Games, and spending time with his family.

Dave was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Long of Duncansville; and a brother, Russell Long of Bowling Green, KY. Surviving is his wife and companion of over 35 years, Shirley Frederick; step-son, Don Frederick of Roaring Spring; step-grandchildren, Brad Frederick and Cody Frederick (wife, Rachelle); step-great-grandchild, Waylon Frederick; sister, Carolyn Deavor of Claysburg; and a brother, Robert Long of Gurnee, IL.

At the request of the deceased, no services will be held. Inurnment will be in Leamersville Cemetery.
