David D. Hoover

David Darral Hoover, 66, of Woodbury, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026 at his home. He was born on June 19, 1960 in Roaring Spring; son of the late Lawrence “Fat” and Elsie M. (Grace) Hoover. On July 22, 1978 at the Roaring Spring Mennonite Church, he was united in marriage to Linda Susan (Keith) Hoover.

Dave was a Class of 1978 graduate of Northern Bedford County High School. He was the owner/operator of Dave’s Auto Body Repair in Woodbury. Dave was a member of the Woodbury Lodge No. 539. He enjoyed spending time in the garage and metal detecting.

Dave was a devoted driver and fan of dirt track racing. He drove the #45 Hoover Racing street stock, semi late, and super late model at Bedford and Cumberland Speedways from 1990 – 2005, until becoming Crew Chief for his son, Brandon. Dave was the 1992 winner of the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway “Race of Champions.”

Surviving is his wife, Linda; son, Brandon Hoover (wife, Alexis) of Woodbury; granddaughters, Addison and Charlee; sisters: Bernice Naugle (Duane), Jackie Imler (Jeff), and Karen Kaizen (Jerry); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

At request of the deceased, a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
