David F. Lower

David F. Lower, 81, rural Williamsburg, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening at his home.
He was born in rural Williamsburg, son of the late Samuel D. and Alice M. (Hicks) Lower.
Surviving are 2 daughters: Shari L. Popp (Albert) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Patricia J. Krimins (Ethan) of Cincinnati, OH; 4 grandchildren: Chad, Desiree, Chance, and Sam; a great-grandson, Tate; 3 sisters: Ruth E. Rupeka, Mary Esther Dick and Doris Ann Wheland all of Williamsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Dave had attended Williamsburg area schools and was a U.S. Army veteran serving state-side as a medic from 1954-1958.
He retired with many years of service as a long distance truck driver from Crown Motor Freight, Lewistown. Following his retirement he drove tri-axle trucks for Grannas Bros. Stone & Asphalt, Williamsburg.
Dave had formerly attended the Williamsburg Independent Bible Baptist Church.
He was a member of the Bonner-Sollenberger American Legion Post 456, Williamsburg.
Dave enjoyed hunting, traveling, word search puzzles, reading, spending time with family and friends and loved his pet cats.
Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Friday, February 5, 2016 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg where a funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2016, Pastor Joseph D. Weber officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at Sparr Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
