David L. Posca

David Leslie Posca, 79, of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Parkersburg, WV, passed away late Monday evening at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Shamokin, Northumberland County, son of the late Francisco “Frank” and Dorothy M. (Thompson) Posca. He married Joyce L. Clowson on August 3, 1963 in Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 52 years; 2 daughters: Melissa “Missy” Lowther (husband, Keith) of Bandon, OR, and Cynthia Alldridge (husband, T. J.) of San Jose, CA; and 3 grandchildren: Adam Lowther, and Caroline and Stella Alldridge.
Mr. Posca retired as a supervisor in the fine paper division of WestVaCo, with over 50 years ofservice. He then was self employed as a consultant in the timber industry, and also held his realtor’s license.
David was a longtime, active member of Christ United Methodist Church, Parkersburg, where he formerly served on many, various church committees, was a Sunday school teacher, and sang in the Adult Choir.
He was a 1957 graduate of Penn State University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Forestry.
David was a member of the National Guard from 1957 – 1970, attaining the rank of Captain.
He was a member of Portage Lodge #220, F. & A.M., Hollidaysburg, Altoona Consistory, Jaffa Temple Shrine, and the NRA.
David enjoyed studying/collecting coins, hunting, reading, history, traveling, the outdoors, New York Yankee baseball, and Penn State football.
A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg, with Pastor Brian L. McCall officiating. Inurnment will follow.
