Delores A. “Dee” Verbonitz

Delores A. “Dee” Verbonitz, 67, of Williamsburg passed away Tuesday evening, September 10, 2019 at her home, following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late William W. and Pauline J. (Michelone) Oberlander.  On April 3, 1971, she married Daniel P. Verbonitz at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 48 years; two daughters: Missy A. Hartman (Troy Everhart) and Lori J. Detwiler (Jon); and a son, Daniel P. Verbonitz Jr. (Danielle Alexis Rentz) all of Williamsburg; and 11 grandchildren: Alyssa, Justin, Tanner, Dylan, Colton, Parker, Kelsey, Wyatt, Peyton, Lane and Logan.

Dee was a 1970 graduate of Williamsburg High School.  After graduation she worked for Boyer Candy, Altoona and in the office for U.S. Envelope, Williamsburg.  She retired in 2007 as the cafeteria manager for the Williamsburg School District with 23 years of service.

She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg, where she served on the Ladies Guild, was a former Sunday school teacher and also organized and cooked for many church dinners and fund raising events.  Dee was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Bonner-Sollenberger unit 456, Williamsburg.

Dee volunteered for Meals on Wheels and along with her mother, helped prepare food for many gatherings at the Williamsburg Beagle Club. She could always be found at her grandchildren’s sporting events or running around town, raising money for the Williamsburg youth sports programs.

She loved her family and “the King” Elvis. Dee also enjoyed cooking and playing softball.

Friends will be received from 2-6pm, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home, Williamsburg where the rosary will be prayed followed by a vigil for the deceased.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am, Monday, September 16, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg, Father Aron M. Maghsoudi celebrant.  Interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Williamsburg.

Memorial contributions in memory of Dee can be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church (Kitchen Fund) 628 W. First St., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
