Dennis R. Miller

October 29, 1946     March 31, 2024

Dennis R. Miller, 77, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024, at the Veterans Home in Hollidaysburg.

He was born on October 29, 1946, at Colver Hospital, son of Leo Harrison and Juan (Auton) Miller.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 55 years, Donna Miller; and three brothers: Donald, Leo, and Robert “Bob” Miller.

Surviving are a daughter, Denise Kelley (Scott); two sons: Daniel Miller (Tracy) and Donald Miller (Susan); six grandchildren: Kelsey Miller, Hunter Miller, Nathaniel Kelley, Aaron Kelley, Anthony Miller, and Rylee Miller; a great-granddaughter, Rylynn Miller; two sisters: Penny and Sally and family; three sisters-in-law: Joanne Miller, Victoria Miller and Ethel Boslet; a niece, Tracy Miller-Wasser; a nephew, Robert “Robbie” Miller and family; and a dear family friend, Michelle Collins.

Dennis was a member of the Sportsman’s Club and various car clubs. He proudly served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. Dennis worked in the coal mines for many years before working for the United States Postal Service, where he eventually retired.

His favorite hobby was working on classic cars with his son Dan, and attending various car shows together. Some of Dennis’ best memories were camping, fishing, and hunting with family and friends. He really enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada.

Dennis was always a hard worker, and a great provider who instilled in his children to be respectful, kind to others, and to help those in need. We thank you dad, for always standing by your family, even through the toughest times.

Dennis wanted to put out a special thank you to his niece, Tracy Miller-Wasser and long-time family friend, Michelle Collins, for all their support – by either helping out or visiting as we navigated through the loss of his wife and our mom. Words cannot describe how thankful he was, and we all are.

Also, the family would like to thank the Veterans Home, the Colver Fire Department, and the Paramedics for the exceptional care and respect they provided to our dad and family.

There will be no funeral service.  A memorial service is being planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in honor of Dennis to the Holy Family Church, 562 Fifth St., Colver, PA 15927, or to the Cambria Township Volunteer Fire Company, 31 Reese Ave, Colver, PA 15927.
