Dolores J. (Pepple) Barkman

Dolores J. Barkman, 91, of Martinsburg, formerly of Woodbury, passed away on June 5, 2022 at Homewood in Martinsburg. She was born on January 24, 1931 in Woodbury; daughter of the late Emmert and Dorothy (Over) Pepple. On May 17, 1951 in Winchester, Virginia, Dolores was united in marriage to Arlan Barkman, who survives.

She was a Class of 1949 graduate of Woodbury High School and a Lioness in the Cove Lions Club. Dolores was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren where she served as Deaconess.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Alex Barkman; and brothers Donald and Ronald Pepple. Surviving is her husband, Arlan; daughter, Michelyn Hatch (Richard J.) of Martinsburg; son, Dirk Barkman (Marcia) of Martinsburg; son, Lance Barkman (Tammy) of Roaring Spring; sister, Connie Emmert of Urbandale, Iowa; grandchildren, Dr. Kiel Barkman, Kella Boyer, and Logan Barkman; as well as 4 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 10:00AMuntil the 11:00AM funeral service at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. Pastor David Ulm will be officiating.

Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery.
