Donald Lytle Bousum Jr., 90, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Williamsburg, went home to be with his Lord, Friday afternoon, March 15, 2024 at his home.

He was born in Williamsburg, son of the late Donald Lytle Bousum Sr. and M. Grace (Rabenstein) Bousum-Fleming.

Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie K. Calderwood of Altoona; four grandchildren: Kenneth I. Ahrens, Brandi D. Douglas (Garon), Misty J. Hartman and Larry J. Calderwood (Heather); and seven great-grandchildren: Chelsea Hurm (Matthew), Marissa Ahrens-Steele, Emma Hartman, Lily Hartman, Aunna Hartman, Patience Price and Isaiah Price.

He was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren: Mason and Madison Hartman; a brother, Charles R. Bousum; and two sisters: Dorothy G. Waite and Arlene M. Steiner.

Donald was a 1951 graduate of Williamsburg High School and also served as a cook in the U.S. Army.  After returning home, he worked at Westvaco Paper Mill in Williamsburg until the mill was shut down.  Don retired as a cook from the Veterans Home in Hollidaysburg, with close to 20 years of service. He was a longtime, faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hollidaysburg.

As a young man, Don rooted for the Brooklyn Dodgers, who would later become the LA Dodgers.  He more recently watched the Pittsburgh Pirates and was a season ticket holder for the Altoona Curve for many years.  Don also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State Nittany Lions, a good John Wayne “The Duke” movie and collecting stamps.

Friends will be received from 11am until noon, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a funeral service with military honors will begin at 12noon.  Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Contributions in memory of Donald, can be given to Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA  16602.
