Donald G. Gearhart, 86, of Martinsburg, passed away Friday January 1, 2016. He was born June 23, 1929 in Duncansville, son of the late Thomas S. and Henrietta (Kephart) Gearhart. He married Donna E. Fleck January 23, 1951 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years; a son R. Alan Gearhart and wife Lisa L. (Kensinger) Gearhart; 3 granddaughters: Melissa Dawn Brumbaugh of Martinsburg, Laura Lynn McKelvey in California and Beth Elaine Stoltz in North Carolina; 3 great grandchildren: Faith Noel, Heather Mae and Thad Alan Brumbaugh all of Martinsburg; and a sister Pauline McGinnis of Altoona. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers:  Sheldon F. and Dale E. Gearhart.

Donald was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Martinsburg. He was a 1946 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.

He was a lifelong farmer, who loved and enjoyed being part of the Agriculture Industry. He served on the Blair County Soil and Water Conservation and was District Chairman for 25 years. He also served as Chairman of the Blair County Land Preservation Board, Morrisons Cove Dairy Show Committee, Chairman of the 4-H Advisory Board, Blair County Co-op Extension, Secretary and Treasurer of the Holstein Club, Past President of Young Farmers and the Farmers Home Administration. Donald also had was an active 50 year member of Dairylea Milk Cooperative.

Friends will be received from 5-8 P.M.  Monday January 4, 2016 and Tuesday January 5, 2016 10 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. funeral service at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Martinsburg, with Pastor Ed Harshbarger officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to St. Matthew Lutheran Church or Blair County Home Nursing.
