Donald "Mac" Herbert McNally, 87, Martinsburg passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning at Golden Living Center-Hillview, Altoona.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Quinten H. and Rosie V. (Butler) McNally. On October 25, 1952 he married Rose D. Ketner in Martinsburg.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years; a daughter, Susan D. Bouslough (Scott) of Bellwood; a son, Daniel L. (Michaela) of Martinsburg; 3 grandchildren: Abigail and Ryan Bouslough and Kris McNally; and a brother, Ronald McNally (Donna) of Roaring Spring.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Percy, Glen and Chester "Pete" McNally; and 5 sisters: Betty Cullen, Ruby Bertisono, Donna Musselman, and Violet and Caroline McNally.
Donald attended Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg and was a U.S. Army Infantry Veteran of the Korean War attaining the rank of Private First Class.
He retired as a laborer/machine tender in 1995 from Appleton Paper’s Inc., Roaring Spring with 43 years of service. Mr. McNally was a member of the Martinsburg and Henrietta Sporstsman’s Clubs and the D. Merl Tipton V.F.W. Post 43, Martinsburg.
Donald loved spending time with and supporting his grandchildren and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding the birds and squirrels and handing out lollipops to the neighborhood children.
Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Friday, March 10, 2017 at Faith Assembly of God Church, Roaring Spring. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the church, Pastor Steve Kulish and Pastor Peter DeArruda officiating. Interment with full military honors accorded by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to the Martinsburg or Henrietta Sportsman’s Clubs.
