Donald K. Detwiler, 87, of New Enterprise, passed away on September 5, 2016 at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. Born on September 4, 1929 in Woodbury, the son of Jerry and Huldah (Kagerise) Detwiler. On April 16, 1948 in Maryland, he married Matilda (Russell) who preceded him in death on July 1, 1981. Donald enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, farming, socializing, and music. He was employed at the Brickyard in Claysburg and later by Agway for 25 years. Donald was preceded in death by his wife as well as three sons; Boyd Rupp, Charles Detwiler, and Kenneth Detwiler. Survivors include daughters Coralene Peterman (John) of West Virginia; Peggy Pepple (Significant Other, Leo) of Woodbury; Jean Miller of Ohio; and Carol Foulker (Dan) of Florida. Sons Bob Detwiler (Sandy) of Bedford; Roy Detwiler (Cindy) of Florida; and George A. Detwiler (Irma) of New Enterprise. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. At request of the deceased no visitation will be held. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00AM at the St. John’s Reformed Church in Loysburg.
