Donald Roy Pheasant

Donald Roy Pheasant, 85, Martinsburg, Pa., and Rawlings Md., passed away Monday, February 20, 2023, at Homewood at Martinsburg.

He was born in Huntingdon, PA, son of the late Roy T. and Ruth M. (Frye) Pheasant.  On March 3, 1956, he married Doris Ann “Skip” Frye in Winchester, VA, and she preceded him in death on February 15, 2018, after 62 years of marriage.

Surviving are two sons: Donald “Buck” Pheasant (Karen Bryant) of Spotsylvania, VA and David Pheasant (Tammy) of Rawlings, MD; two daughters: Rosalie Isenberg (Tim) of Madison, WV and Penny Pattison (Ned) of Warsaw, VA; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson, Beau Bryant Pheasant.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Cory Bryant Pheasant and a brother, Robert Wayne Pheasant.

Donald was a graduate of Central High School. Following graduation, he worked at AG-Way Feed Store, Williamsburg. He then worked at Westvaco, Williamsburg, until his transfer in 1963 to Westvaco in Luke, MD, where he retired in 1999 as a quality control inspector with 43 years of service.

He served in the Marine Corps reserve from 1955 to 1957, attaining the rank of PFC.

Donald was an avid beekeeper, and was a leader of the Busy Hornets 4H Club in Rawlings, MD.  He enjoyed spending time on his porch, loved spending time with family and grandkids, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home, Williamsburg, and Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, Pastor Chris Garretson officiating.

A private interment will be made at Shellytown-Fairview Cemetery.
