Donald Raymond Talbert Sr., 68, of rural Martinsburg, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, December 9, 2021 at his residence.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Thomas R. and Roxie C. (Elliot) Talbert.   On November 3, 1978 he married Kathy J. Criswell at their home along Clover Creek.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 43 years; six children: Donald R. Talbert Jr. (Nickie) of rural Martinsburg, Danielle R. Kauruter (Steve Jr.) of Williamsburg, Nanette C. DeLancey (Charlie) and Julie A. Stadler (Chris) both of Altoona, Matthew T. Talbert (Katie) of Williamsburg and Joseph A. Talbert of rural Martinsburg; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Chuck E. Talbert; and a sister, Tina M. Dick both of rural Williamsburg.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua A. Stadler; and a brother, Richard L. Talbert.

Don was a 1971 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg.  He was employed for many years as a dock worker at Warnaco, Duncansville and more recently worked as a maintenance and grounds keeper at Raystown Lake for the Army Corps of Engineers.

He loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Friends will be received from 11am until 1pm, Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a funeral service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home, Pastor Mark Biter officiating.  Private interment will be held at Oreminea Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

Memorial contributions in memory of Don may be given to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
