Doris L. (Miller) Ebersole

November 21, 1922 — March 7, 2016

Doris L. Ebersole, 93, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Martinsburg, passed away on March 7, 2016 at Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg. Born on November 21, 1922 in Brooks Mills, Blair County, the daughter of Charles P. and Mary (McCloskey) Miller. On June 18, 1944 in Roaring Spring she married Merle Ebersole who preceded her in death on December 14, 2008. Doris was a graduate of the Morrison’s Cove High School. She was employed by Sylvania Electric and later spent 28 years with the Spring Cove School District. Doris was a member of both the Martinsburg and the Messiah Village Brethren in Christ Churches and served as a youth director and teacher. She enjoyed homemaking, church music, church ministries, and mission prayer activities. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Merle; sister, Jane Harland; and brothers John, Homer, and Charles Miller. Survivors include; daughter Jane Ebersole of Martinsburg, PA; daughter Nancy Brandt of Mercersburg, PA; daughter Martha Sider of Harrisonburg, VA; son Merle Ebersole Jr. of Clarks Summit, PA; and brothers Wilbur and Thomas Miller.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 1:00PM – 2:00PM.  At 2:00PM a service will take place with Pastor Ron Slabaugh officiating. All of the above will be held at Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg. Interment at Spring Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church or the Messiah Village Endowment. Arrangements by the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home; Woodbury, PA.
