Dorothy Louise (Over) Mcfadden

March 13, 1926 — December 5, 2024

Melbourne, Florida

Dorothy Louise McFadden, age 98, peacefully went to be with Jesus on December 5, 2024, at Melbourne Terrace in Melbourne, FL, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on March 13, 1926, in Woodbury, PA, to the late Cyrus and Clara (Kagarise) Over, Louise grew up in her cherished hometown. She attended Juniata College and met the love of her life, Ross McFadden, at a church revival. They married and embarked on a beautiful journey together.

Louise and Ross settled in Creston, Ohio, where they welcomed their four children. During her time in Ohio, Louise earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Akron and taught at Rittman Junior High. She was a trailblazer, one of the first women in her generation to earn a Master's Degree in Business in 1961. In 1965, the family moved to Baudette, Minnesota, where Louise made her home for 30 years. She taught Business Education at Baudette High School, impacting countless students with her dedication and love for teaching. Louise took pride in equipping her students with the skills they needed to succeed in the business world. After retiring from teaching, Louise founded Northern Minnesota Realty, a successful real estate brokerage. Her business acumen was extraordinary for a woman of her generation, and she was known for her fairness and integrity.

Following the passing of her husband, Louise moved to Arlington, Texas, in 1995, and later to Melbourne, FL, in 2001. As a faithful servant of God, Louise was devoted to playing the organ and singing in the choir at every church she attended. In her later years, Louise pursued her passion for music, touring to visit famous cathedral organs in Mexico, Central America, and Europe. Her greatest accomplishment was her unwavering love for the Lord and her family. Louise deeply cherished her family, her community, and held a special place in her heart for her sister, Anna Lee Martin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross McFadden; son, Weldon McFadden; brother, Maynard Over; and sister, Anna Lee (Over) Martin. Surviving is son, Asa McFadden (Verla) of Indialantic, FL; daughter, Florence Dally (Bruce) of Ahsahka, ID; daughter, Deborah Brunger (Daniel) of Melbourne Beach, FL; brother, Byron Over (Delma) of Roaring Spring, PA; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM Funeral Service at the Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury; Pastor David Scott officiating. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery - Woodbury, PA.

Louise's life was a testament to her Christian faith and her disciplined work ethic, always dedicated to her family and community.
