Dorothy L. (Miller) Zook

Dorothy L. (Miller) Zook, 89, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 1, 2021, at Homewood at Martinsburg, PA.

She was born in Martinsburg, daughter of the late Nathan Ray and F. Marie (Replogle) Miller.  On March 24, 1951 she married Ralph E. Zook at Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg.

Surviving are two daughters: Cathy L. (Dan) Truskowski of Hamburg, NY and Brenda M. (Don) Malczewski of Sunset Bay, NY; two sons: Thomas E. (Betsy) Zook and Brian P. (Laura) Zook, both of Casper, WY; nine grandchildren: Daniel, Jamie, Kristen, Nathan, Rebecca, Brandon, Clareesa, Sam and Joey;  four great-grandchildren: Logan Zook, Shelby Zook,  Danny Kusior and Emma King; a sister, Janice E. (Miller) Thompson of Chicago, IL; and a brother, Gary (Ellen) Miller of Broken Arrow, OK.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, brother Don Miller, and great grandson Micah King.

Dorothy was a 1949 graduate of Martinsburg High School.  She was a longtime member of Martinsburg Memorial Church of the Brethren and various other churches in New York and Wyoming, where she sang in the choirs and played hand bells.  Her pies were always an important part of the church bake sales.

She was a loving homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.   She also was the seamstress, barber-stylist, cook, and artist in residence.

Her final years were spent back in Martinsburg, at the Homewood care facility.

Dorothy, like her husband Ralph, was a donor to Humanity Gifts Registry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Friends will be received from 2 until 3pm, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at  Memorial Church of the Brethren,  Martinsburg, where a memorial service will follow at 3pm at the church,  Pastor Chris Garretson officiating..   Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
